FGCC rides in April
Saturday 5th April – Monarch’s Way ride.
PT, MT, SP, JR, MA, RT.
Met for breakfast at cafe opposite Worthing Station.
Train to Havant.
Cycled to Rowlands Castle. Cafe closed for refurbishment but even so teas and cakes served – recommended visit if passing.
“Blasteet” Hill lived up to its name giving RT 3 punctures, with objections by MT.
JR rear end broke, but just outside MA friends house and tea provided whilst repair. Lunch but then JR struggling on single speed, eventually resorting to scooting. Parted company at Whiteways, JR to be collected in Arundel, MA to Angmering, rest on to Findon via Amberley.
Just coming to top of Kithurst Hill in heavy drizzle MT got his come uppance with a “blasteet”. Fixed and back to Findon.
Total 42 miles.

Saturday 12th April 08.00 am ride.
CB, RT
Route to Arundel via the tank and gallops,after which we checked the CB finger memorial and then onwards for first brek in Arundel this year.
Return via Burpham and Kithurst.
After ride CB phoned to ask if left a cycling shoe at Nepcroft. Had searched everywhere. How could you lose a shoe in a small Fiat. Phoned later to say it had been found – Velcro had attached to boot lid!

Saturday 19th April 08.00am ride.
MT, SP, ZA, MA, RT and PThomas.
Route to Shoreham via Cissbury, Steyning Rd, concrete road. Poynings, Downslink, Shoreham airport, sea front, then up Heene rd, West Worthing Stn, Thomas a Beckett, Mill Lane, gallops and back to Findon for a brek at Julia’s.
