2014.08 August

Saturday 2nd August – 08.00am ride
MT & SP (for once properly dressed!), RK, JR & ZA.
ZA – “Wasn’t sure I’d feel like a ride this a.m. but as I’m unlikely to be out on a Sat a.m. for a few wks now, I went and met Sam, Mark T, Roy and John.
There seemed to be some indecision about a route (surely not?!) so I suggested the following: Stable Lane, up by the Gallops, down into No Man’s Land, along the Monarch’s Way to Langmead memorial: NW along SDW to
Chanconbury Ring dropping SW back towards Findon, but turning off to pass near the Pest House, thence up through Gallops Fm. and back down into the Village (by c. 10.00 – approx 1hr 45 mins).

Saturday 9th August – 08.00am ride
PT, RT, PT (Philip), RK, TK and brother of TK (BK).
Morning after an EPM to celebrate RT & PT birthday. TK arrived with brother on an off-road tandem to the entertainment of all.
Up Cissbury and round to Langmead. Down the concrete road for a bit of memorial maintenance of the PT2 memorial since both were present, after which TK & BK returned home.
The peleton continued to Shoreham via the Downslink. After a brek across the new bridge to the beach and along the seafront, but with RT having to make an emergency stop due to his left pedal arm coming loose at Lancing beach. A visit to the Bike store followed, then back along the sea front, Grand Avenue, Thomas a Beckett, the Gallops at which point RK parted from the peleton for home. Back to the village and Nepcroft.
